POBLACIÓN, POBLAMIENTO Y REGADÍO SEGÚN LOS CONGRESOS NACIONALES DE RIEGOS (1913-1934)
Abstract
The National Irrigation Conferences (NICs) are of great importance for the promotion and development of Spanish irrigation. An Utopian model is created in them which ascribes an enormous variety of every kind of virtues to irrigation. Among them the ones which stand out are those related to the promotion of rural population and the introduction of a settlement model by means of colonization. These virtues as a whole have been dealt with in previous works. In this one, we explain at length the topic of colonization in irrigation in relation to population and settlement of the territory. And the main conclusions are that the NICs deal with this theme in depth, but from a practical point of view the results are rather exiguous. Nonetheless a theoretical corpus is left that will be taken advantage of by Franco´s regime for the development of its specific colonization.Downloads
