LA CAÍDA DE LA URSS Y LA DIFÍCIL RECOMPOSICIÓN DEL ESPACIO EX-SOVIÉTICO
Abstract
The economic reforms undertaken by Gorbachov didn't produce the results they intended. On the contrary, they weakened the central power and rekindled nationalisms and interethnic conflicts. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the new independent states became immersed in an economic crisis from which they have not yet recovered. With the aim of overcoming this situation, the new States, under the drive of Russia, are trying to create an institutional structure --CIS- which will serve as a stabilizing force and a solution to the economic problems. However, the process of reintegration within a common economic and political ground is turning out to be a slow and laborious one.Downloads
