Abstract

The expansion of irrigation around Lorca has progressively transformed salt flats in the area, leading to their fragmentation and eventual elimination. Despite its intensive use, this semi-arid environment still preserves some of its characteristics: a partial lack of drainage, high salt component in the soil, and halophilus vegetation.
