Abstract

One of the most important characteristics of the geomorphology of the Buenos Aires province, is the presence of a large number of lagoons of different sizes and forms with an irregular distribution. A lot of them have occupied potentially productive areas. The Unamuno lagoon is located in the Napostá Chico basin (1320 km2) in the denominated «pampeana» region, Argentina. The objective of this investigation is to study the water quality of the lagoon and the analysis of the possibilities of the resource utilisation. Edaphologic and meteorological data from the study area were compiled. Physical parameters were also measured and water samples (at surface and depth) were analyzed. The. water quality is evaluated from a biological, chemical and physical perspective.
