Abstract

An agriculture unable to satisfy the demand, a secondary sector lacking in creative capacity and business affected by westem protectionism are the main distinctive features. Hence the most serious crisis over the last half century, manifested in the increase in poverty and the transfer of wealth to other countries. It has also been affected by the burden of the business downtum between 1980-85 and the latent conflicts in the area. The prospects of stability depend upon the recovery of the world economy and the continuity of the change of direction of the U.S. foreign policy in the sector
