THE ARCTIC AIR IRRUPTIONS IN DECEMBER 1990 OVER SPANISH PENINSULA AND BALEARES
Abstract
During the winter, the Iberian Peninsula was afected for polar or arctic air irruptions which occasionally caused a sudden fa11 in temperatures. This happened in december 1990, with strong frosts in the Castilla area, due to arctic winds to this area as a consequence of a strong anticyclone situation over British Isles and which were brought by low pressures over the Westem Mediterranean. In this work is used the sinoptic superficial maps, topographics of high levels and cloudiness photographs of meteorological european Meteosat satellite.Downloads
