STATISTICAL STUDY OF RAINFALL IN THE NORTH EAST OF THE PROVINCE OF GRANADA USING INCOMPLETE DATA SETS
Abstract
The rainfall over a large sector of NE Granada has been analysed. The available data series have been corrected and extended to cover the same observation period in order to have fiable data series. As the study area has a climate with strong contrasts with marked irregularity and great variability, a statistical study was carried out paying attention to the distribution of rainfall frecuency and characterising the distribution of each frecuency using methods to measure central tendency. dispersion and form. Following this analysis a classification of the pluviometric values' is obtained for the separate stations emphasising the mean and standard deviation in contrast to the median and quintiles, as an index of classification. The mean annual precipitation for the whole data set studied is 450 mm, wich is poorly represent;itive both spatially and temporally.Downloads
