LA DISTRIBUCIÓN TERRITORIAL DE LA POBLACIÓN FEMENINA EXTRACOMUNITARIA EN ESPAÑA: FACTORES DEMOGRÁFICOS Y LABORALES
Abstract
In this article we intend to statistically analyse (through factor analysis and linear multiple regression) the factors determining the provincial distribution of the working age (16-64) extra-communitarian female population, using 2006 (second quarter) data from the EPA (Spanish Labour Force Survey). Results show the relationship between the provincial percentage of extra-communitarian women and the demographic and labour characteristics of each province, and the characteristics of the female autochthonous workforce (education level, degree of occupational qualification, activity rates). Together with other factors such as tertiarization and ageing, provincial proportions of extra-communitarian women are partly determined by the activity rates and the educational levels of Spanish women. This would therefore validate our initial hypothesis: the existence of complementarity between the arrival of foreign population and the social, educational and labour promotion of the autochthonous population (specially the female one).Downloads
