EL CONSEJO DE HOMBRES BUENOS, PATRIMONIO ORAL E INMATERIAL DE LA REGIÓN DE MURCIA
Abstract
The Consejo de Hombres Buenos de Murcia (Council of Wise Men of Murcia) and the Tribunal de las Aguas de Valencia (Water Court of Valencia) are legally sanctioned courts that exercise their legal functions over the peasant farmers with irrigation rights, offering a brief process that nevertheless gives them enough procedural safeguards. Since these courts have been in existence for many centuries, UNESCO has recently received all necessary documentation for their proclamation as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage.Downloads
