EVOLUCIÓN URBANA Y SU INFLUENCIA EN LA EROSIÓN COSTERA EN EL BALNEARIO PARQUE MAR CHIQUITA, ARGENTINA
Abstract
Coastal erosion constitutes an important and complex environmental problem due to its socio-economical consequences over the affected areas. As a dynamic phenomenon its causes vary in time and space making its detection harder, given that the source of erosion can be regional or local. In urbanized zones, coastal erosion is caused by natural and social factors. The Balneario Parque Mar Chiquita —Buenos Aires province, Argentina— has registered an intense erosive process due to anthropic regional factors, among others. In this work the urban evolution and dune dynamic in the coastal area of the village is analized to determinate the influence of these processes in the coastal erosion problem. From aerial photographs it has been estimated that the occupation, the increase in construction rates and the fixation of dunes have had an important participation in coastline retreat. Two zones were recognized in the area that showed differential behavior in dune dynamic, which can be associated to the mean erosion rates.Downloads
