Abstract
Usually the researchers devoted to population geography have not paid enough attention to the forced migration processes. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the set up and main motives that leaded to the creation and great success of human trafficking organizations in the Republic of Moldova after the disintegration of the Soviet Union- In order to fulfill the objective there will be a first section where we will analyze the push factors that made the population more likely to abandon their homeland and then, in the second section we will check how pull factors affected the situation in Moldova creating a «magnet effect» scenario.
