Abstract

In the Southeast peninsular, anticyclonic situations and advections are fed in winter with polar / continental arctic air is common. Under these conditions, intrabetic basins and river valleys are very prone to the development of inversions breakup temperature. A clear example is the Media Vega del Segura in the winter months. In this paper these major factors and situations of inversion breakup temperature registered with Vega during the period 2000-2013 are analyzed. To complement the study, a proposal frost hazard mapping in the Huerta de Murcia for different winter months is done.
