Abstract

The small traditional orchards in the sector northwest of the Region of Murcia are suffering numerous transformations. The competition exercised by the recent and intensive watered areas installed in former agricultural surfaces of dryness and the expansion of new residential areas are generating changes in the uses of the soil and social, environmental and political conflicts.
