Abstract

The group of styles without guitar –tonás, martinetes, carcelera and debla–, is one of the most singular and personal groups within Flamenco. Little studied, these styles have evident antecedents in other popular and rare singings; like work songs –threshing, sowing, riping–, ballads (Spanish romances), lullabies and old saetas. The musical study of this popular music reveals similar structures, poetry forms and melodies respect the flamenco forms.
