Abstract

The research was carried out to validate the content of an operational guide of nurse care among the candidate patients of heart transplants which used Intra Aortic Balloons correlating to publications of scientific literature on the practical experience of specialists. The methodology trajectory followed three phases: 1-Construction of the instrument; 2-Validation of the content of the instrument; 3-Elaboration of the operational guide for the analysis of the agreement between the referees and the scientific literature. The study sample was composed of 48 professionals from expert doctors and nurses who give the direct assistance to the patients in a clinically unstable cardiologic condition using the BIA. The care validated in this study referred to the maintenance in horizontal decubitus and indication of the change of decubitus of the patient; to carry out the change of the insertion point of the catheter whenever there are signs of infection; the time between the changing of the transparent film dressing over the place of insertion of the catheter balloon is made every seven days; to constantly evaluate the position of the catheter in the thorax by x-ray; to evaluate the clinic of the of insertion of the catheter; to analyze the time of exchange of the transducers; to clarify to the patient and family the risk-benefit of the BIA; to communicate to the patient each of the parameter changes of the BIA; the compression of the wound after the withdrawal of the catheter can be carried out manually, mechanically or a mix of the two. The study is based on the clinical practice of experts and scientific literature, present in this study, it was observed that the construction of a guide can be a tool of great value for the systematization of the care.
