The research is of an exploratory-descriptive type with 36 Nurses from Sobral-Ceará, in the period from January to July 2004. The results point to a considerable difference between the data collected through non-participant observation during checkups and those obtained in the questionnaire. It was discovered that during the graduation training, that there is still not adequate training for future professionals. Many nurses are already promoting appropriate care for the sufferers of high-blood pressure. In some cases the opposite occurs, the professional lack of preparation concerning care for the sufferer of high-blood pressure is quite frequent.
