NURSES WORKING ON THE RECEPTION DESK: REGISTERING AND CLASSIFICATION IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT.
Abstract
The constant increase of the number of the consultations that are carried out in the services of the hospital urgencies, it makes that it is indispensable to prepare a system to classify the patient who go to our services in function of possible graveness for to take care of the high-priority form to one that more that require. To this activity has been calling Triage traditionally. This term for their meaning and application historical should to be bounded, in the sanitary terminology, for to define the classification of victims taken place by accidents or catastrophes and, therefore, for application to the extrahospitable environment. In the environment for the hospital urgencies it has insert the term of the RECEPTION, WELCOME and CLASSIFICATION (RAC). The RAC (term that in hospital urgencies it must substitute to Triage) it is a correct understanding of the problem of health of the patients and their ecosystem, environment and family, since the assistance optics, for levels of graveness, and their corresponding classification and adaptation to the assistance structure means of urgencies in which we are. The RAC is an own activity of infirmary, like they recognize this way in the articles 52, 53 and 54 of the Real Ordinance 1231/2001, of 8 of November, for the approval of the general Statutes of Schoolboy Organization of Infirmary in Spain, the General Council and of the Ordination the professional activity of infirmary and the Law 44/2003, of 21 of November, of ordination of the sanitary professions in their articles 5.1,a) b) and c); article 7.1 and 2 a). For that this activity will have been effective and efficient, it should apply some systems for the classification of the patient validated y/o consent, but also debit side to maintain and to reinforce the interpersonal relationship between user / victim and sanitary professional. In our Hospital, the activity of the RAC it carries out it the infirmary of the urgencies service, and the system of the patient classification adopted it is the MTS or Manchester Triage System.Downloads
