THE NURSE IN THE PROGRAM OF HOME INTERNMENT: THE USER'S AND THE FAMILY’S VISION
Abstract
The objective of the study was to identify the Nurse's performance together with the users of the Program of Home Internment (PHI). An approach of descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative nature was used. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview. The sample was constituted of ten users that had received care from the Program of Home Internment of a municipal district of the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The study made possible a theoretical-practice approach in relation to the program, indicating that the users identify the Nurse in contrast to the other members of the health care team. The main activities that relate to the Nurse are technical care and orientation actions. For the users it is important that the Nurse is identified on first contact with the patient, as this is one of the prerogatives in establishing a continuous and detailed support regarding care and in the interviewees’ opinion the key for the success of the program.Downloads
