EDUCATIONAL PROJECT FOR THE CONVERGENCE OF THE COURSE “MEDICAL-SURGICAL NURSING” TOWARDS THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION SPACE.
Abstract
In the Spanish universities, in general, and in the Nursing Schools, in concrete, there is some concern related to the impending necessity of adapting their educational methodology and their curriculum design to those standards established by the European Higher Education Space. In the present work, an educational project for the teaching of “Medical-Surgical Nursing”, a core course of the Nursing Degree Program, is proposed. The methodology, based on the development of professional competences, the planning and the establishment of a system of credits proposed in this project, are in agreement with the ancient Law of University Reform and also with the convergence aims of the European Higher Education Space. This course has been selected because it is the largest one (48 credits, 12 theoretical and 36 practical). This amount of practical credits makes this course difficult to be adapted. In this way, we think that steps to achieve convergence for this course could be used for other nursing courses.Downloads
