ENTERAL NUTRITION IN THE CRITICALLY ILL PATIENT. CAUSES OF THE INADEQUACY BETWEEN THE PRESCRIBED AND THE RECIVED CARE.
Abstract
We present the results of a prospective study about Enteral Nutrition (EN) in critically ill patients during 30 days. We focus on the objectives of the EN in these patients and then analyse the factors or causes that determine the continuity of this treatment. Based on the results of our study sample, we list the possible factors related to their interruption. With the aim of evaluating the incidence of these factors, we analyse the relation between estimated caloric and protein intake for a group of critically ill patients, the prescribed volume of EN and the quantities received, in fact, by these patients.Downloads
