SANITARY NEWS IN THE MURCIA COUNTRY. AN BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS.

Abstract

Objective: to know how much relative information to infirmary, public health, medicine and/or education is published in the daily press. Material and Method: It is a descriptive study the retrospective character all the news published in the regional newspapers "La Verdad" of Murcia and "La Opinion" of Murcia. The population gives study they are the news published in the regional newspapers "La Verdad" of Murcia and "La Opinion" of Murcia. The sample is 1.518 news picked up from the 1 January at the 31 December of 2004. Results: The thematic distribution the news along the year 2004 in the newspapers it was 3% infirmary, 9% Education, 44% medicine and public health. In the newspaper "La Opinion" the distribution for topics is 4.1% infirmary, 43.38% public health, 11.93% medicine and 40.56% of education. In the newspaper "La Verdad" the distribution for topic is 2% infirmary, 43.5% public health, 7.1% medicine and 47.3% education. Conclusions: The newspaper "La Verdad" of Murcia it publishes, in general, a bigger number gives news the areas analyzed interest (infirmary, medicine, health public and / or education) that the newspaper "La Opinion" of Murcia. A low incidence exists news of Infirmary regarding news of public health, Medicine in comparison to the news of Education. The news give Sanity they increase in the Sunday publications, while them Education they group in the central days of the week.
