Abstract

This article is on the subject of saline solution 0,9% in outlying veined accesses as method of maintenance of its permeability. This as objective represents a guide of recommendations and a ruled flowchart of interventions in Infusion Nursing Society. Few studies with evidence of salinization have been found in the virtual databases. This guide directs the procedure and the materials that must be used. In conclusion the use of saline solution 0,9% in the conditions extolled by Infusion Nursing Society presents solid theoretical bases that may sustain the development of futures studies about the effectiveness of the saline solution as a method to maintain the permeability of outlying veined catheters in adult patients.
