Abstract

It is important for the professional nurse in primary care to promote the necessary attitudes to incite giving blood. To be promoters of hemodonation, it is necessary to know the requirements needed to that aim, as well as the more habitual cases of temporal or definitive exclusion. The nurse knows the patient’s medical history, his/her pathologies, the prescribed medicaments, his/her habits, etc. For this reason, the nurse is the one with enough information to solve doubts, and encourage the volunteer to give blood in an altruist way.
