IMPORTANCIA DE LOS CAMPOS QUIRÚRGICOS PLÁSTICOSADHERENTES EM LA REDUCCIÓN DE LA CONTAMINACIÓNY DE LA INFECCIÓN DEL SITIO QUIRÚRGICO. LABÚSQUEDA DE EVIDENCIA MEDIANTE LA REVISIÓN YANÁLISIS DE ESTUDIOS CIENTÍFICOS
Abstract
The study aimed to verify the evidence of the use of incision surgical drapes as strategy in reduction of contamination and surgical infection. The method use was the review and analyis of papers indexed on electronic bases form 1950 to 2003. The results demonstrated that 12 studies approached surgical drapes. Those studies were analysed based on: kind of investigation, method design, independents variables controlled, results and the authors’conclusions. As results we obtained: a) strong force of evidence that the incision surgical drapes are not related to surgical infection; b) evidence that these drapes reduce contamination of surgical site; c) controversy the ability of these drapes to avoid the transference of skin microorganisms form skin to the surgical site. The recommendation is to improve the randomized studies using rigorous variables control.Downloads
