Abstract

This article aims to develop the process of nursing based on Roy’s Adaptation Model in patients with diabetes mellitus, and to determine its usefulness as a theoretical framework when implementing nursing care. We have come to the conclusion that applying this model to DM patients in primary health care makes possible the identification of behavior and stimuli related to these patients’ adaptive responses, contributing to the planning of interventions required to manage the stimuli and obtain their adaptation.
