THE PERCEPTION OF THE SOCIAL SUPPORT OF THE ADOLESCENTS WITH OR WITHOUT MOTOR DISABILITY.
Abstract
Introduction: The self-concept is a reference point to explain interactions of the human-being with the environment. This process culminates in the adolescence, because the youth comes across the internal conflict being forced to appeal to adaptation strategies, of agreement, with an orientation in the social environment, material and of domain (MOSCOVICI, 2003). It is with base in the critical thought, of the understanding of the aptitudes and of the existence of a group of contradictory emotions related with the need of experiencing the autonomy and independence, the adolescent develops relationships, in the search of the ME Ideal choosing a support group. Simultaneously it builds the image of itself own, develops the self-perception evaluation, developing in the social dynamic in the different domains. (MOSCOVICI, 2003; FLEMING, 1997, HARTER, 1999). Objectives: To relate the motor disability and the perception of the types of social support, in teenagers. Method: A correctional study, groups: A – with a motor disability (N=47) (AMD) and B – without motor disability (N=364), (AWMD) from both sex, with ages between 12- 20 years old, frequenting a scholar level between the 7th and the 9th, in a regular education. Used Susan Harter’s different scales of perception for the social support (1997) and analysed according to a multifactor analyses to I and II factors and the simple linear regression. Results: The AMD Associate support of the friends: and the paternal Comparatively AWDM make association among all of the dimensions of the social support. Conclusions: The motor disability introduces differences in some dimensions of the selfconcept, self-esteem, as well as in the dimensions perception relationship and the perception of the social support of the adolescents.Downloads
