Interviews with forty nurses, who belonged to twenty health units of the country of Fortaleza-Ceará-Brasil, were developed from July to December of 2004. Statistics tests of the x-squared (x²) to find the dependence between two variants reached 95% of reliability which confirmed that the nurse’s correct STV procedures depend on the kind of specialization course he has attended and the kind of in-service training he has had as well. It was observed that the nurse’s knowledge and practice in this area should be strengthened, having as strategies the in-service continuing education and the offer of specialization courses in the area.Downloads
