The phenomenon of gender violence to women from the scientific production of nursing
Abstract
In order to identify and analyze the scientific production in the area of nursing on violence against women in the period from 2000 to 2009, a study was made of scientific literature in which the first page of nursing journals of the Virtual Health Library of Brazil was consulted. Based on the criteria of inclusion, 10 publications that explicitly described the relationship of gender violence and its implications in w omen’s care were identified. On considering the thematic analysis, four categories emerged: attempts to quantify and explain the phenomenon of violence; phenomenon related to the health professional; the learning of violence and the relationship with a partner. The knowledge acquired offers a view from nurse’s perspective on the analyzed topic; however, the study does not manage to outline a complete perspective of care, which stimulates the production of other studies on this subject.Downloads
