THE TIME OF HEART CICATRIZACION: CARE AND THE CARING OF CLIENTS TO OVERCOME THE DIFFICULTS AFTER CARDIAC SURGERY
Abstract
Research resulted from data of Master’s Dissertation, entitled “Guide of Care: Caring and Daily Care of Clients with Mitral Valve Implant after Post-discharge”. Objects: identify cares realized by clients, according to their own reality and the time passed from surgery, analyse the activities which each one managed to develop for overcoming the physical difficulties after post-discharge. Methodology: qualitative, descriptive, exploratory, in out patients’ unit of Cardiology, at a public hospital in Rio de Janeiro; with 27 women and 21 men, being of age and carrier of mechanical mitral valve from post-cardiac surgery. Semi-structured interview dealt with the cicatrization time of surgical wound, relating to the time of overcoming the difficulties of care realization. Results: the heart cicatrized depends on the time passed from cardical surgery, without interference on client clinical conditions, life style, restart daily activities, overcome the difficulties faced after post-discharge, demanding time determined for it; 48 clients overcame the difficulties in varied times ranging from 30 days to 24 months. Discussion: clients were aware of difficulties of quotidian readaptation, but it must have emotional balance and receive support and incentive. Conclusion: sistematization of assistance can be enriched with new knowledge extracted from the quotidian of clients in overcoming their post-surgical difficulties, becoming a vehicle of care/ caring information in cardiacal surgery.Downloads
