ABSENTEEISM: THE INTERRELATIONSHIP OF PAIN AND OBSTACLES IN WORK AMONG WORKERS FROM A PUBLIC HOSPITAL LAUNDRY SERVICE.
Abstract
This article is intended to discuss the difficulties, revealed by the workers in the course of their activities and the interrelation between symptoms of pain and absenteeism, in a public hospital laundry. It is a case study, descriptive and exploratory, with data collection through documentary research, semi-structuralized interview and Test of subjective perception of localized pain. It was proven that the professionals possess knowledge of the work routines to be adopted, but they do not use them. Lack of awareness was displayed regarding risks and injuries, not to mention the identification of non-compliance to the scientific principles that guide the functioning of the hospital laundry, thus demonstrating little commitment. The main difficulties highlighted have been bad distribution of workers and the deterioration of equipment. In relation to pain, all, excluding the supervisor, presented pain with variations of localization and intensity, interfering directly with the completion of activities and reverberating in the lack of service. It was concluded that the attained knowledge pointed to the interrelation between the completion of activities in the laundry and pain, which are aspects that affects the absenteeism of the workers.
