ACTIVIDADES INTER-CENTROS PARA LA ENSEÑANZA DE INGLÉS PARA FINES ESPECÍFICOS

Abstract

The English language has reached an important role for people's development at work and in the University. For this reason, teachers from University Schools and Faculties in the University of Murcia which offer the English language in their syllabuses have turned their way of teaching into English for Specific Purposes. They aim at fulfilling al1 the needs their students are going to find when they face a future working situation. Although teachers of English of this University are really aware of the students ' needs, the overcrowded classrooms do not allow them to make and individual assessment related to the student's knowledge of the language. This situation also leads to a jack of active practice of the language in class. Taking al1 these factors into account, a ream of teachers of English from the Department of English Philology in the University of Murcia has designed a ser of activities which could solve to a certain extent the problems found in an E.S. P. class. The novelty of this proposal in found in that way the different activities are done: the students involved in these activities belong to different Schools from the University, and al1 of them take part in the same activity at the same time.
