Abstract

A general characteristic of Iberian pottery is its imitative capacity with regard to Classical Greek prototypes. Nevertheless, despite reproduction of characteristic Greek shapes, there are significant departures in regard to what is painted on them, in so far as Iberian ceramic paintings tend to reflect sixth-century B.C. Greek prototypes as regards technique, style and content.
