Abstract

This essay will offer a part of the results achieved during the archaeological works in the urban area of Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), carried out by the Town Council of the village from 2008 to 2010. Among the remains found on the site, from Roman finds to contemporary ones, stands a torcularium in the vicus: it may be a small torcularium, but contains most of the elements that define this working area, such as the room for grinding and pressing the oil, the room for decanting the oil and the cella olearia or storage room.
