Abstract

La Loma del Regadío (Teruel) is a Roman settlement on the Ebro river mid-valley with a long life, since the 1st to 5th century AD, which undergoes intense remodeling at the late 3rd or early 4th century AD. These alterations had devastating consequences for the prior structural distribution, which is barely known, and they were aimed at creating a villa of great oil and wine production potential, at present without known parallels in the territory where the settlement is situated. In this paper we present the substructures generated for these purposes in the new dwelling, with a great torcularium, equipped with five presses, two mills for grinding olives and different tanks to capture the pressed product.
