Abstract

The Orthopteroidea (Caelifera) of the main mountains chains of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) are studied. The studied specimens (10.784 adult and 446 nymphs) belong to 65 species and were collected in the years 1989, 1990 and 1991, in 179 sampling localities in the Sierras de Alcaraz, de Segura, de Mugrón, the Toledo Mountains, the Serranía de Cuenca and the Macizo de Ayllón. Data on different aspects of their biology such as horizontal and altitudinal distribution, phenology and vegetation preferences are given.
