Abstract

The Pablo de Olavide University teachers’ training programme below specified not only means a specific training plan in this university but also a way to the staff’s methodological renovation and improvement within the European frame of university education which requires new ways to face teaching taking into account the social changes in the 21st century as well as the need to approach the university to its social surroundings. As it happens all over Spanish universities, we need to experience new teaching ways, with no previous formation, if we want our teaching to be effective and satisfactory. With this goal in mind, our university faced teacher training bearing in mind that a quality formation requires teachers’ commitment at the time of improving and reflecting about their teaching performance. The U.P.O. teacher’s training programme focussed on this aim and to recognise the effort of the teachers committed, a new degree was established “Teaching innovation within the frame of the European University Education Space.”
