Abstract

The aim of this article is to show the results of an educational innovation project on technologies of information and communication applied to the study of subjects related to the protection of historic-artistic heritage at "Pablo de Olavide" University. Web-CT has been applied to the subject “Protection of Architectonic Heritage” since 2003 as a tool for support and reinforcement in traditional lessons. Later on, Web-CT has begun to be used as an e-learning tool for the on-line subject “Restoration techniques for stone, ceramic and metallic materials of historic-artistic interest” during 2006-2007. This tool has allowed to bolster tasks with images and improve the educational process control. This analysis summarises the access to different pages, student preferences and development of communication skills. A data base has been designed in relation to the number and nature of access. Communications have been classified into four groups: technical or management questions, tutorial applications, information and academic requirements and others. Students’ communication skills and answers have been analysed as well. Results allow to make a quality evaluation on strong and weak points and to establish quality indicators. One of the main indicators is tutors’ answers within 48 hours.
