Abstract

From the experience in using the wiki tool in several subjects taught at the Faculty of Law at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, some conclusions can be drawn that allow the development of a strategy to implement collaborative activities using wiki tool. Prior to the design of the activity it is necessary to contextualize them, reflecting on the following questions: What is the wiki for? When will the wiki be used? Who are the potential users? How long do students need to develop this activity? Which are the characteristics of the work developed in the wiki? What role does the teacher play in the activity?, What kind of communication must exist between the participants? What is to be evaluated? What technical and human resources will be needed? Once the activity is contextualised, it is possible to design the activity and the supporting and information documentation and their presentation on line, developing materials and making decisions on: the skills developed, the object of work, the evaluation criteria, the schedule of activities, the style rules, the working methods and communication, and the design and execution of the working space in the virtual campus. Finally, it is necessary to alert to several problems that may arise during the process of developing the group work in the wiki, both of technological and of sociological sort.
