Abstract

A Competencies Approach does not need to be, paradoxically, more elitist than a Knowledge-Centred Pedagogy. How can a Competencies Approach be addressed? As an attempt to modernise curriculum, adapting it to present day in the fields of working, citizenship or everyday life. Even if its true that the introduction of the concept of competence in education comes from the fields of economics and work, it is important to show that instead of turning away from knowledge, the Competencies Approach brings renewed vigour to education relating it to social practices, to complex situations, to problems and to projects.
