Abstract

This article analyzes the content of a representative sample of the teaching portfolios presented by the participants in the Initial Teacher Training Program for University Instructors of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. The teaching portfolio is used as a training strategy in the program with the main aim of developing in the teachers a reflective attitude towards their own teaching practice, based on the compilation of records of efforts and results in enhancing their practice. This article describes the ethnographic study carried out, which allowed us to reach a good understanding of the teachers’ conceptions in relation to the teaching task, as well as to obtain a clear vision of their learning during the training program and of their ability to document their learning.
