Abstract

The city of Granada had increased in various points in particular all along the banks of the river Darro. We should not consider it as a simple growth of the population but much as a like a policy of the current political power, or at least as an orientation by the rulers. As much as the written sources as the the archeological surveys enable us to apreciate the stages of this urban growth, wich had started with the Almohade reign and had climaxed during the Nazari period. At that time we asist to the transformation of an agricultural area of the site to a new urban fabric of the city, as it had been maintained a rural life style inside the walled city
