LOS CÍRCULOS DE LA EXISTENCIA: DIAGRAMAS DE IBN ʿARABĪ EN EL CAPÍTULO 371 DE AL-FUTŪḤĀT AL-MAKKIYYA

Resumen: El presente artículo examina una serie de mapas cosmológicos y escatológicos secuenciales expuestos por Ibn ʿArabī en el capítulo 371 de al-Futūḥāt al-makkiyya. Tras una sucinta presentación del capítulo, exponemos algunos pasajes que ponen de relieve la finalidad de los diagramas que figuran en esta magna obra. A partir de estas nueve ilustraciones, el Šayḫ expone la disposición de las dimensiones invisible y visible del cosmos, así como la organización del más allá, el Día de la Resurrección, los amigos de Dios y los nombres divinos fundamentales.

Abstract: This article examines a series of sequential cosmological and eschatological maps presented by Ibn ʿArabī in chapter 371 of al-Futūḥāt al-makkiyya. Following a brief introduction to the chapter, we present some passages that highlight the purpose of the diagrams included in this great work. Through these nine illustrations, the Šayḫ explains the arrangement of the invisible and visible dimensions of the cosmos, as well as the organization of the hereafter, the Day of Resurrection, the friends of God, and the fundamental divine names.
