Abstract

Excavations conducted over recent years at the Iberian sanctuary of La Luz (Murcia) have uncovered interesting architectural structures, furnaces, walls, and what seems to be a terraced temple occupying the highest ground, dating from the third and second centuries B.C. in terms of the Graeco-italic pottery which was present. Altars and ritual tumuli containing ex voto bronze offerings and sacrificial remains suggest counterparts at Eleusis or cults on Sicily in honour of Demeter-Ceres, notwithstanding the rnodest nature of the architectural structures at La Luz.
