Abstract

Based on recent archaeological finds and historiographical valorization a review of roman city of Onuba is presented. It is hereby assumed that roman town, as previously stated by historical and archaeological research, was not an smail unimportant agricultural andlor fishers community. All the contrary by urban planning deducted of finds Onuba should be considered
as one of prime roman sites located in the periphery of western Baetica, which inherited strategic location and ecconomical posibilities by the use of natural resources that previously made
the ancient sea port one of the hegemonic centres of southern Tierra Llana de Huelva.
