Abstract

The Iberian cemetery of El Cigarralejo (Mula, Murcia, Spain) was extensively excavated by E. Cuadrado. It offers the largest body of information about the funerary behaviour of the Iberian society. This paper deals with the study of children, their recognition and their understanding on the context of the rules that governed the
rituals devoted to the deads. Several graves are analysed and some general appreciations about the role that children played inside their cultural group are exposed.
