Abstract

Here, we analyse a buckle and a buckle-plate that have been found at Cartagena in the late period of the Roman Theatre. These pieces belong to types distributed widely throughout Europe and the Near East, and generally dated to the sixth and early seventh centuries. They show a new aspect of the Byzantine presence at Cartagena.
