Abstract

In the present work we briefly analyse the role of the garden in the scope of the Roman domestic architecture. We review the diferents features of the roman domestic garden: architecture and design, the role of the water, decoration and also the garden's plants and animals. Hispanic Roman domestic gardens and peristila are particularly dealt with.
