Abstract

In this paper we study the Iberian weight system in the ancient region of Contestania. We analyse the identified balance weights from Iberian sites to approach the formal character of these items and to know their chronological context. Throughout the study of
the mass of the balance weights we try to understand the absolute standard and the mathematical structure on which this system is based. We relate the new evidence to the already known record and the studies about weight systems in Iberian Culture.
