Abstract

The aim of this project was to create content on social networks (RRSS) that facilitate the understanding of the subject of Medical Pathology (4th year of the Veterinary Medicine Degree), promoting the M-learning methodology of students through their participation in the development of these materials, and their dissemination to the rest of the students. The stages of content development, correction, publication, and evaluation through student satisfaction surveys were followed. The audiovisual material included images, reels, short videos, and microcases related to Neurology, Equine Medicine, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology-Endoscopy, and Cardiorespiratory Medicine. An Instagram account was created for the UMU Veterinary Medicine Teaching Innovation Group (@patologiamedicavetumu), since it was the social network, most accepted by students. As a result, audiovisual materials were incorporated in the form of Instagram posts, with a total of 16 publications across different specialties, of varying complexity, from reminders of the most important characteristics of certain pathologies to videos and photographs documenting the findings of various diagnostic methods. Regarding the impact of the posts, the account has gained a total of 211 followers in eight months. The posts have garnered 420 likes, with an average of 348.75 views. Regarding the evaluation survey results, they were quite satisfactory, with 100% of students stating that the project met their expectations, 100% giving a score of 8 or more out of 10 in relation to the usefulness in understanding concepts, 84% giving a score of 8 or more in relation to the usefulness in preparing for the exam of the subject, 100% would advise a colleague to sign up to participate with the Innovation Group and 100% show a high degree of general satisfaction. The usefulness of the M-learning methodology as a support for university teaching in Veterinary Medicine is demonstrated.
