(THYROID MORPHOLOGICAL ALTERATIONS OF MALE WISTAR RATS TREATED WITH OESTRADIOL AND TRENBOLONE ACETATE)
Abstract
Structural and ultrastructural modifications in thyroid parenchyme of rats treated with oestradiol and trenbolone acetate have been studied. Thirty-five male Wistar rats were used as material of study distributed in two groups: one of 28 animals divided in seven lots of four animals each, and other of seven animals used as witness. In every rat ofthe first group a tablet containing 2'5 mg of oestradiol and 17'5 mg of trenbolone acetate was implanted subcutaneously behind the ear. Both gruops were sacrified on the first, third, fifth, seventh, fifteenth, thirtieth and sixtieth day postimplantation. Thyroid gland shows a hyperactivity in the first experimentation lot, characterized by an increase in all gland structures where there is a predominance of synthesis follieles. In lots 4 and 5 a follicular disorganization and bociogenic or follicular hyperplasia is observed, due to a decrease of gland structures, appearing a great follicular disorganization both at central and periferic level, with a great amount of follieles without colloid seeming-like mosaic cells. In the last two lots, those of days 30th and 60th, a follicular recovering is found with a great amount of storíng follieles lined by tlat cells and with elear indications of cellular regeneration, so a colloid goitre is set up.Downloads
